This page sets out what we collect, why, who else ever sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It describes the software as it works today.

What we collect
Three kinds of information, and nothing beyond what the software needs to work.
- Your account
- You sign in with Google, and that is the only way in today. Google hands us your name, your email address, your profile picture and the account identifier it holds for you. Your Google password never touches us. We do not run our own password sign-in, and we do not process payments, so no card or bank details reach us either.
- What you tell us when you sign up
- Whether you are a student, a practising engineer or a lecturer; your institution or practice if you give one; your year or years in practice; what you design; the code you work to; and how you heard about us. Only the first of those is required, and the rest set up your workspace.
- Your engineering work
- The descriptions you type, the drawings, photographs and sketches you attach, the spans, loads and section sizes the software reads back out of them, the code and materials you work to, and the models, results and PDF reports that come back. This is your engineering work, and we treat it that way.
Where the AI comes in
Movastruct reads what you write, and you should know exactly what leaves the building.
- What we send
- The description of the problem, and any drawing you attached. When you ask for a report, the results and the summary that goes with them. Nothing that identifies you travels with it — not your name, not your email, not your account id.
- What comes back
- A structured model of the member you described — spans, supports, loads, sections. The engineering itself is not the AI's to do: it reads the question, it does not do the arithmetic you sign for.
- Your drawings
- An uploaded drawing is sent for interpretation and is not kept afterwards. The small thumbnail you see beside your question stays in your own browser, and clearing your browser storage clears it.
How we use it
We use what we collect to:
- Run the analysis and design you asked for, and give you back the results and the report.
- Keep your conversations where you left them, and let you sign back in and find them.
- Set your workspace up around the work you actually do and the code you actually use.
- Answer you when you report a problem or write to us.
- Hold rate limits and hourly quotas, so the service stays up for everyone and is not abused.
- Find and fix faults, from the errors the server records.
We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not profile you.
Your work stays yours
The projects you build in Movastruct belong to you. We do not use your project content — your descriptions, sketches, photographs, models or results — to train our models, and we do not hand it to anyone else to train theirs.
We are a small team, and the people who write the software are the people who can reach the database. We look at project content when you ask us to look at something, or when we are chasing a fault or a security incident — and not otherwise.
If you hand someone a report, you are the one deciding who sees it. Anyone holding the link can open it, so treat a report link the way you would treat the report.
Who else handles your data
The list is short, it is the whole list, and everyone on it is bound by contract to use your data only to provide their service to us.
- Sign-in. Google confirms you are who you say you are and tells us your name, email and picture. The sign-in script and our web fonts are also served from Google, so Google sees the request your browser makes for them.
- Our AI provider
- Reading your descriptions and drawings, and drafting the written summary in a report. See "Where the AI comes in" above for exactly what is sent.
- Our file storage provider
- Storing the PDF reports the software generates.
- Our hosting and database provider
- Running the application and holding your account, your conversations and your results.
There is nobody on that list for advertising, analytics, error reporting, email or payments, because we do not use those services. When one of them arrives, it appears here before it goes live.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim. If Movastruct is ever acquired or merged, your data may transfer with the business — we will tell you before that happens.
Changes to this policy
This policy describes the software as it stands today, and the software is still being built. Payments, analytics and email are all things we may add — and when we do, this page changes before they go live, not after. We will move the last-updated date at the top, and if the change is significant we will put a notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Movastruct after that means you accept the updated policy.
